'The Field' aka Axel Wilner will be playing live at the brand spanking new 'The Queen Of Hoxton' bang in the heart of Shoreditch on Sunday 12th July.

Since his signing with Cologne based Kompakt records, Axel has produced some of the most mesmerising music that I have ever heard. In 2005 he released his first 12", a demo mixtape of Annie's 'Heartbeat' as well as a 12" featuring the track "Things Keep Falling Down".

In 2007 Axel released his debut album through Kompakt "From Here We Go Sublime". He produced his debut using the old 'one man and his laptop' approach, which unquestionably worked well for him. Critics applauded his work commending him on his ability to transport the listener into some meditative trance like daze. Endless loops and hearbeat like beats shifting you deeper into the abyss.

Since his debut Axel has been working on a new project and has consequently released his follow up album 'Yesterday and Today'. Axel enlisted the help of percussionist Dan Enqvist and multi-instramentalist Andreas Soderstrom, who have helped develop a whole new, multi-layered aspect to his soundscapes.

The Queen Of Hoxton boasts a roof terrace and Turbosound system waiting to be blast your socks off. If you missed 'The Field' play at Cargo club earlier this year this is the perfect substitute. Tickets are £7.50 You can buy your tickets in advance from Ticketweb HERE or from Bleep.com HERE.
