If you've only just recovered from last weekend I'm sorry but I have some very bad news. It's almost time to do it all again, and yes Fabric are once again showcasing some superb talent this weekend.
Agoria aka Sebastien Devaud is currently on a whistle-stop tour of the world promoting his superb Balance 016 mix CD. This Frenchman certainly knows how to DJ and this is certainly not a show to miss. He'll also be playing alongside fellow Frenchman Oxia in room 2.
FXHE record owner and entrepreneur, producer and DJ, Omar-S will be gracing us with his presence in room 3. If you've been out of the loop for a while, there's one thing you should know about Omar-S, he's very talented and his Fabric 45 mix CD was voted #49 for best mixes of the 00's.
Better get a ticket quick, this will certainly be a busy night.
The Red Bull Music Academy links up with FACT magazine to bring you the best in UK funky, dubstep, future-garage and other mutant sounds currently burning up dancefloors in London and beyond.
Head down to Camden town's favourite local haunt 'The Lock Tavern' for some sure to be brilliant performances from Rustie, Joy Orbison and MJ Cole. Support comes from Space Dimension Controller as well as the RBMA All-Stars and FACT DJs. If you havn't checked out Space Simension Controllers's recent FACT mix do it and whilst your at it download his free album 'Unidentified Flying Oscillator'. No doubt this motley crew will get that roast dinner you just scoffed down jumping up and down.
Expect house, dubstep, funky, garage, bugged out R&B and a queue around the block to get in, the event is FREE so don't miss out. Get your asses down to Lock Tavern and grab an early lunch.
Out to all our German friends, this Saturday the whole Civil Family will be heading over to the beautiful Berlin to showcase the best in Bass Music Civil Style.
Parisian beat-maker du jour dEbruit, Dalston-dwelling voodoo shamen Drums of Death, master technician and rhymical genius Reso, Mad Decent protege and Dubstep-Electro terror Rusko and Planet Mu and Philly’s finest Starkey. All killer - no filler.
For anyone even slightly interested in the angular hip-hop workings of Los Angeles's Brainfeeder crew, this lineup will initiate a few gulps. Flying Lotus headlines, joined by many of those pushing experimental but still danceable hip hop and forward thinking global bass music more generally - notably Stones Throw's J. Rocc; Hyperdub Head Honcho Kode9; Switzerland's Dorian Concept, who are responsible for highly recommended album 'When Planets Collide'; 3024 don Martyn; and many more, all of whom are worth elaborating on here, but why not get down to the actual night? It's bound to be mind melting...in a good way.
Acclaimed film director and video artist Chris Cunningham has created some of the most iconic music videos of recent years from Bjork's 'All is Full of Love' to Aphex Twin's 'Windowlicker' and most recently Gucci's beautiful 'Flora' advert. IA have written an in depth essential film series article on Chris Cunningham's work, read it here.
In April this year the Southbank Centre will be hosting a very special one off live show by Chris. Not only is this a very rare opportunity to see Cunningham perform, it is one opportunity that I have been waiting to happen for a very long time. Expect a combination of his own and remixed music with brand new and unreleased videos to create a hugely anticipated multimedia experience. This is not a performance to miss, I strongly reccomend you buy a ticket now, they're £25 each!
